LOUISVILLE, KY – An Instrumental Tribute
Produced by Toi Real McCoy | Faderz Up Productions

“Louisville, KY” is more than an instrumental to me—it’s my musical picture of home.

I wanted this record to represent the whole city: the West End, downtown, the Ohio River, Derby culture, our neighborhoods, our music, our history, our struggles, our celebrations, and the people who have helped put Louisville on the map.

This instrumental has been a long time coming. I started working on it months ago, kept coming back to it, changing it, mixing it, and trying to make the music feel like Louisville instead of just making another beat.

The record also includes a chopped vocal element from “Louisville, K-Y” by Ella Fitzgerald and Her Famous Orchestra, connecting an earlier musical tribute to Louisville with my own generation and sound.

And I have to give special love to Playa — Static Major, Smokey and Black. Those brothers are part of Louisville R&B history, but they’re also personal to my journey. They gave me game and helped influence the direction I took in music. If it wasn’t for people who poured knowledge into me along the way, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

This is for everybody from Louisville—and everybody who’s ever visited our city, loved our city, represented our city, or called Louisville home.

More Than Just A City — It’s Where Legends Are Born.
