TALK AT NIGHT WITH BISHOP V. LYONS | MARCH 11, 2024 | WLLV GOSPEL 101.9 FM
Another powerful conversation from Talk at Night with Bishop V. Lyons, originally broadcast March 11, 2024, on WLLV Gospel 101.9 FM — Louisville, Kentucky.
Host: Bishop V. Lyons Co-Hosts: Toi A. Lewis, A.B. (Antonio Brown) & Will Smith Producer / DJ: Ron Jones
This episode opened with scripture and prayer from John Chapter 15 before we got into a serious community discussion about violence involving our young people, including Black-on-Black violence, and what families, community leaders, law enforcement and elected officials can do to help change the culture.
Everybody at the table gave their personal opinions and experiences. We talked about investing more resources directly into our neighborhoods, holding community leaders accountable to their word, strengthening relationships between police and the people they serve, and finding real ways to reach our youth before the streets or the system reach them.
We also discussed the role of Louisville Metro Council members and the importance of elected officials being visible and involved in the communities they represent.
Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins was part of that conversation as we discussed leadership, public safety and efforts being made in the community.
We were also joined by a guest connected with the University of Kentucky, who contributed to the discussion about Kentucky, community involvement and moving our young people in a better direction.
This date was personal for me as well. March 11 is my oldest daughter Tierra Harper Leavell’s birthday. During the show I gave her a special birthday shout-out and reflected on becoming a father at only 14 years old, bringing my baby girl home from the hospital, and watching her grow into the woman, wife and mother she is today. ❤️
This is what Talk at Night was about — faith, family, real issues, different opinions and real conversations about what is happening in our community.
